Halloween 2016 Recap!

Tuesday, November 1, 2016

Halloween just keeps getting better and better each year since Baylee was born. This year, we decided to go with another Disney theme, and let Baylee dress up as her all time favorite character...Minnie Mouse! I was Minnie's best friend, Daisy, of course, and Brian was my Donald!

After some delicious chili and home made mac'n'cheese (which I was told to try mixed together and OMG it was so good) we went trick-or-treating with my cousins and their son, and my sis and bro-in-law and my niece. Mac was Pooh and and Adalyn was a pirate! Heart eyes!

We had a blast pulling the kiddos around in their wagons, and their cuteness was a total hit at each house. Baylee really got in to it this year, knocking on each door and shouting "trick-or-treat!"...which from her sounds more like "trucker feet!". All three of them made out like bandits with their candy! Props to the family handing out juice boxes (genius!) and to the family handing out age appropriate candy and toys...you guys rock! We even found some of our favorite Disney characters at one house, so we had to take a pic! :)

We came back to my cousins house to munch on more food and some of the yummy cupcakes I made. Baylee stayed up entirely too late because of her sugar high, but it was worth it to know that my girl enjoyed her Halloween as much as I did!

This morning, Baylee woke up and asked if it was Halloween, and I said "Baylee...can you say, "gobble, gobble, gobble."? ;)

Hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween! Let the holiday season officially commence!

Drink Up, Witches!

Monday, October 24, 2016

Tonight, for the second year in a row, the girls and I are getting together to play the Hocus Pocus drinking game! Last year was so much fun that we decided to make it an annual Halloween time tradition. We have some kind of yummy fall dinner (this year is chicken pot pie soup with biscuits) and then we spend the rest of the evening eating snacks, and getting tipsy watching one of the best movies of all time!

I decided to change the rules a bit from what we played last yea just to keep it more fun. So, here is the version of the game that I compiled for us to play this year:

Take a sip whenever:

~Winnie calls for her "BooOooOook!"
~ Mary smells children.
~Sarah sings.
~Winnie says "sistahs".
~The black flame candle is lit.
~Binx dies or says "Emily".
~Billy Butcherson loses a body part.
~The witches fly on their brooms...or mop...or vacuum.
~The spell book's eye opens.

*Bonus Rules*

Chug the remainder of your drink while dancing to "I Put A Spell On You"!

A witch hat is passed around to the last person to catch on to each drinking prompt and to anyone who misquotes a line during the movie. Once the credits roll, the last person wearing the hat has to say, "Oh, look...another glorious (beer, glass of wine, etc)" and then chug an entire beverage finishing with "makes me sick!".

The best part of this game? Everyone wins! You get to watch a great movie and end up tipsy! Hooray!

So, drink up witches! ;)

Anniversary Recap!

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Brian and I had so much fun celebrating our anniversary yesterday! We decided to do a day trip down to Disneyland so that we could ride all the rides that we don't get to when our only 34" Baylee is around. ;)

We had breakfast at the Carnation Cafe on Main St. I indulged in a Mickey waffle that was so good I could seriously eat one for breakfast every day.

We ran around the park like kids and got to go on most of our favorite rides. We weren't too hungry for lunch, so we decided to do a little day drinking at the Cove Bar in California Adventure instead. (A MUST if you are visiting the parks and are in dire need of a yummy cocktail.) We ordered some delicious drinks off the secret menu (Neverland Tea is where it's at!) and shared a fajita quesadilla roll appetizer.

We hit a few more rides at California Adventure (Word to the wise: Don't go on Goofy's Fly School when you're tipsy!) and people watched for a bit. We met the cutest cast member, a custodian, probably in his 80's who finds pennies in the park and picks out kids to give them to telling them that they are "magical pennies" because they come from Disneyland. Um, you're adorable! So, Brian baited a few pennies for him for later. (So something my hubby would do!) After a bit we decided that it was time to make our traffic-filled trek to the restaurant we had chosen for dinner, but first we had to take the classic picture in front of the Mickey pumpkin!

For dinner, we chose Northwood's Inn, which is, in my opinion, the best steak house in So. Cal! We had to practically be rolled out after all the delicious food, and we failed to take a picture together, but it was a great evening with my love.

Oh, and funny story! I got Brian the buffalo plaid shirt he is wearing in the above pic as one of his anniversary gifts, and he got me buffalo plaid pajamas! I also got him this flask, and he got me the "T" mug that I have been wanting so bad. I guess we were thinking exactly on the same wavelength this year. :)

Thank you for a wonderful anniversary darling!
Cheers to us!

 Until next time! XoXoXo

Wedding Album Highlights!

Monday, October 17, 2016

Tomorrow, Brian and I will celebrate 3 years of marriage together. I swear it was just a few months ago that I was being fitted for my dress, but in reality here we are 3 years later as parents, homeowners, and proud drivers of a new minivan! ;)

In the 5 years total that Brian and I have been together, this one has been our most challenging yet. Between struggling with our infertility issues and his injury at work, there has been a lot of stress and uncertainty, but we never let it cause a great divide. We know that this too shall pass, and things will finally begin to look up again! I am so blessed to have a husband who is steadfast and determined, while also being my best buddy. Darling, you really are wonderful.

I've been feeling nostalgic about our wedding day with our anniversary being tomorrow, so I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite pictures from our wedding album with you! We had the best day, and our photographer was on point, so I was so happy with how all of the shots turned out! Here are some of my favs!

Getting ready with the girls:

Brian and the guys:

The ceremony and after pics:
 We got married at a church in the mountains, and the setting and fall foliage were absolutely breathtaking.

The reception:

It really was the best day. I sometimes wish I could go back and relive it...and maybe relive the flying to Jamaica the next day too! ;) But, I wouldn't trade these last 3 amazing years of growing in love for the world! I thank God every day for putting this crazy guy in my life, and I don't know where I'd be without him! Happy 3 years, my love, and many many more!

"I tip my hat;
to the keeper of the stars;
He sure knew what He was doing;
when he joined these two hearts."
~Tracy Byrd

Until next time! XoXoXo
