Love List!

Thursday, March 23, 2017

I have Spring on the brain over here, so I thought it would be fun to do a new love list that's (loosely) Spring themed! :)

First off, Spring is a perfect time to break out or, if you're a newbie, get started with Essential Oils! I have been selling doTERRA oils for a while now, and I get even more obsessed as I do more research. For instance, peppermint oil can immediately unclog sinuses and offer relief to scratchy throats due to seasonal allergies. Also, diffusing Melaleuca around the house can destroy airborne pathogens that cause allergies in the first place! So neat! There are so many things that you can use Essential Oils for, and I'm definitely starting to swear by them! If you need any oils, or are interested in joining my team, we would love to have you! Just contact me here and we can get you going with a starter kit.

In the "yummies" department, these Raspberry Yogurt Muffins seem like the perfect spring treat, and I can't wait to make some soon. If anyone makes them before I get a chance, let me know how they turn out!

It's finally "jeans and a tee" weather, and I am stoked! You know I love my small shops, and I just found a brand new shop with the cutest t-shirts for mamas called Caam Rose. I love the shirts she already has in stock, but I am also so excited for a Disney themed shirt that she is launching next month! You know I'll be rocking it at the parks all spring and summer long! ;) Check her out on Etsy or on Instagram: @caam_rose

For the little ones, you all know how much I love my J&J! Well, they just released a whole line of polka dot leotards that pair perfectly with their new solid color twirl skirts, and I am obsessed! They make the cutest little spring outfit for sure, We got this set for Baylee for her "puppy birthday party" this summer (more on that later!) and I don't think I'm going to be able to wait for July for her to wear it! (Also June & January is having a huge 24 hour sale today so hurry over there before it ends!!)

In other news, my baby sister just got engaged and found out that she's having a baby GIRL!!! That's right, I have a little niece on the way this summer, and I could not be more excited about it! Now, both of my little sisters will be getting married within the next year and I am so ecstatic for them and the guys they get to spend their forevers with! :)

Finally, if you follow me on Instagram @mrs_tibbetts
then you already saw these tiny little buns with pink bows, but I just can't get enough!

Until next time! XoXoXo

Happy First Day of Spring, friends! Yesterday, I started putting up some of my pretty Spring/Easter decor, and I love it so much! I don't know why, maybe it's because we finally got a "true" rainy & cold winter here in Southern California this year, but I am already so ready for sunshine & Spring days. Lemon Blueberry Bread

Friday, March 10, 2017

I got a bite from the baking bug this morning, so I decided to try something new and made this blueberry lemon bread for the weekend. It was so easy to make, and absolutely tastes good enough to have for breakfast or dessert. It's a perfect fruity, spring treat!

Lemon Blueberry Bread

Ingredients:

~1 & 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
~1 teaspoon of baking powder
~1 teaspoon of salt
~1/3 cup of unsalted butter (melted)
~1 cup of sugar
~2 eggs
~1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
~2 teaspoons fresh grated lemon zest
~2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
~1/2 cup of milk
~1 cup frozen blueberries

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees & lightly grease a 9x5 loaf pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, & salt. Set aside.
3. In the bowl of a stand mixer, blend melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, lemon zest, & lemon juice. Mix until combined.
4. While the mixer is on low, add half of the flour mixture, then half of the milk, then the other half of the flour, then the last half of the milk. Stop mixing as soon as everything is well combined.
5. Rinse off blueberries, then put in a small bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of flour to coat the berries. This will prevent them from sinking to the bottom of the loaf during baking.
6. Add berries to the batter and stir in gently by hand.
7. Immediately pour batter in the loaf pan and bake for 55-65 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
8. Cool the bread for about 30 minutes or so before removing from the pan.

To make the bread even more delicious, I added a lemon glaze! Yum! Here are the directions for that:

Lemon Glaze

Ingredients:
~2 tablespoons of butter, melted
~1/2 cup of powdered sugar
~2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
~1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl.
2. Pour over cooled off bread while it is sitting on a cooling rack with wax paper underneath. This will make for easy clean up! I also sprinkled extra powdered sugar on top just for fun. :)

That's it! Easy peasy! My best girl and I had so much fun making ours today, and even more fun eating it!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Until next time! XoXoXo

Lucky Littles!

Wednesday, March 8, 2017

One of my favorite holidays, St. Patrick's Day, is next week, so I thought I would round up some green and gold favorites  for the littles to help make the holiday extra festive!

I think a lot of the actual St. Paddy's shirts that are made for the boys can be a little cheesy, so I love the idea of pairing a little green striped shirt with some chambray shorts. Add these adorable green hi-top chucks and he definitely won't get pinched. ;)

For the little lass, I love this super cute "Lucky Girl" tee paired with a yellow skort. And I'm seriously jelly of these green jelly shoes. Can we petition to bring back jellies for adults too, please?

June & January just released their newest color, Kelly Green, for the holiday, and I am loving this gender neutral striped cardigan. Also, you can't go wrong with some little shamrock sunglasses to complete your lucky look! :)

My little chick is already wearing her green loud and proud!
Kiss her, she's (half) Irish! ;)

Until next time! XoXoXo

My Bucket List

Friday, March 3, 2017

When I was in my Senior year of high school, I was super bored in English class one day, so I decided to write out a "Bucket List" on a piece of notebook paper. I folded it up and carried it around in my wallet so that every time I did something on it I could check it off and write the date in which I did so. What's crazy is that I actually managed to knock off at least half the items in about 12 years, and I was really proud of myself!

Then one day, about a year ago, Baylee managed to dump some water in my purse which turned some rogue fishy crackers that were hiding in the bottom in to a goopy, nasty mess. Because my wallet and purse were both machine washable, I took everything out and put them in the washing machine, but somehow I left the paper with my bucket list! Noooo! I didn't notice until I took them out of the dryer and all that was left was a bunch of tiny paper balls. So sad.

Since that day, I have been wanting to write out a new bucket list. My birthday is Sunday, so I figured this would be the perfect time to think about things that I want to do in my life before I "kick the bucket". :)

Also, this picture is of me checking off "ride a horse on the beach/in the ocean" from the aforementioned bucket list while on our honeymoon in Jamaica!

My Bucket List (Part II)

1. Go to the Westminster Dog Show. (Sounds so silly, but I watch it on TV every year and love it so! lol)

2. See a number of country artists in concert including: Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Josh Turner, Eric Church, Jason Aldean, & Florida Georgia Line.

3. Publish a book. (Either a children's book or a novel.)

4. Drink a glass of wine in Rome.

5. Be kissed on the top of the Eiffel Tower.

6. Learn to Surf in Hawaii.(Like actually stand up on the board and catch a wave!)

7. Fly a plane. (With professional assistance of course.)

8. Ride in a hot air balloon.

9. Run a half marathon.

10. Road trip with Brian across the United States with no itinerary.

11. See the Northern Lights.

12. Go white water rafting.

13. Visit every Disney theme park in the world & go to Aulani as well as take a Disney cruise.

14. Learn sign language.

15. Rent a beach house for a whole summer.

16. Finish school and get a bachelors degree. (Long story but I only have about a year left once I decide to go back!)

17. Go on an African safari.

18. Move outside of California.

19. Catch fireflies in a mason jar.

20. Go to Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

21. Renew my vows with Brian on a beach in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii (the place we were temporarily living when fell in love).

I think it's very important to have a list of things you want to accomplish in life be they big or small, silly or intense, because we only have one life to live, and we should all make the most of it!

For this weekend, though, my only things on my list are making sure that my little family gets healthy (Baylee and Brian both got hit with the flu, and Baylee got pink eye a few days ago! So terrible!) and scrubbing & disinfecting this house before my birthday on Sunday!

It's nothing like getting a kiss from a dolphin, but it'll do for now. ;)

What are your top things on your bucket list???

Until next time XoXoXo
