My Postpartum Weight-loss Journey With Blanqi

Tuesday, April 24, 2018

After I had Baylee, it took me a long time (seriously until her first birthday) to finally lose all the baby weight. I knew I would probably have the same struggle this time around, especially since I started out this pregnancy 10 pounds heavier thanks to fertility drugs. Sure enough, I’m 2.5 months postpartum and having a lot of trouble losing those last 8-10 pounds. I’m not one of the lucky ones who melts far off through breastfeeding; my body clings to those extra fat stores for milk production and yet I’m still starving All. The. Time! I know once I’m done breastfeeding (my goal is 6 months) I will be able to focus on losing the weight, but for now I’m very appreciative of clothes that help flatter and flatten my postpartum belly. This is where Blanqi Supportwear comes in handy! I got one of their postpartum + nursing support tanks and it is my favorite thing to wear these days! It’s made from a super soft, stretchy, and very comfortable fabric that hugs me in all the right places. It’s also made so that the front can be easily yanked down for breastfeeding access which is super important to me when choosing clothes these days.

Right now, Blanqi is offering 50% off their nursing/postpartum tanks as well as their maternity shapewear tanks using the code MOTHER, which is an absolutely amazing deal! Make sure you check out their super comfortable leggings and bellybands also! :)

For now, I'm cutting myself some slack. After all, it took me 9 months to gain the weight, so it could easily take that long or longer for me to lose it. Until I feel ready to really diet (thinking of doing keto after breastfeeding!) I'm just going to try to make as many healthy choices as I can and move my body every day! In the end, my little peanut was worth every extra pound. ;)

Until next time! XoXoXo

Two Months With Natalie

Monday, April 9, 2018

I'm not sure where time has gone, but my tiny little miracle is already 2 months old! She's starting to be so much fun with her little gummy grin and coos. Her last appointment was two weeks ago and she was 9 lbs 12 oz and 20.75 inches, so she's probably grown a little more since then! I packed away all her preemie and newborn clothes (tears!) and she is officially rocking the 3 month wardrobe. I can't remember life without this little munchie...there's no way it was as sweet! :)

We started off Natalie's second month of life with her bellybutton finally healing, so she got to have her first real bath!

She also had her 1 month pictures taken with sissy at her first photo shoot which she, of course, cried through most of. ;)

A week later, Natalie got to go on her first road trip to San Diego to attend her Auntie Nicole's wedding which she, of course, slept through most of! (Gotta love 5 week olds!)

A couple weeks after that, she got all dressed up for Daddy's graduation from the Firefighter Academy! We are all so excited for this new crazy change to our family...it's going to be quite the amazing adventure!

Then, a couple days later, Natalie got to celebrate her second first holiday...Easter! Baylee had the best time opening her basket for her, and they wore matching Easter dresses to dinner that evening.

I love this little babe more than I could ever explain! It's been so much fun to watch her personality start to shine through. I can already tell she's more quiet and reserved than big sis, and that she's going to take her time with milestones. By this age, Baylee was already rolling from belly to back and could prop herself on her forearms during tummy time. Natalie has shown no desire to roll and is perfectly content during tummy time just lifting her head slightly and kicking her legs while she coos quietly. I don't mind one bit though, and I kind of hope she takes her time growing up. :)

Until next time! XoXoXo

Friday Favorites: Bathing Beauties

Friday, April 6, 2018

My girls got new bathing suits in their Easter baskets this year, and we are so excited for warmer weather so we can finally go for a swim! I thought I would round up a few of my favorites for toddler and baby girls this season! :)
Clockwise from top left:

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

Now if only I could find a suit I love on my still very post partum bod! 😉

Where are your favorite places to shop for girls' and mamas' swim suits?

Until next time! XoXoXo

Easter 2018

Monday, April 2, 2018

Easter this year was so much fun! One of my favorite things is to watch Baylee gain more understanding and get more excited for each holiday every year, and this Easter was no exception! Baylee went right to sleep the night before when I told her that the Easter Bunny couldn't come until she was sleeping. The next morning, she came in my room before sunrise wanting to see if the Bunny came. I had her get in my bed so I could finish my coffee before we started our morning. While we were sitting there her and I talked about Jesus and the true reason we celebrate Easter and we thanked Jesus for dying for our sins so that we could join Him in Heaven one day. :)

Once I was caffeinated enough, the girls and I headed to our living room, and sure enough, the Bunny had come! Baylee was so excited that he left baskets for both her and baby sissy. Natalie was less than thrilled and slept through most of the morning, but it was really cute to see Baylee include her sister in the festivities.

Once we finished baskets, the hunt was on! Baylee ran around like crazy searching for her eggs, and she found all 18 of them without any help from me! She opened them up and was super excited to find that most of them contained Shopkins. We always have sooo much leftover candy, so this year we did Shopkins instead, and I have to say they were an even bigger hit than candy would have been!

After the egg hunt, my dad came up to visit and joined us for breakfast. I made the cutest "bunny booty" pancakes and scrambled eggs. Just as we were finishing up, the neighbors came over and gave Baylee about 50 eggs filled with candy and money, and then Brian finally got home from work and our morning got even better! :)

In the afternoon, we did some grocery shopping (because adulting lol) and we got to try out Natalie's shopping cart hammock for the first time! It was so awesome, I'm definitely going to have to do a post soon about how much and why I love this little contraption!

Once we got home, we got dressed in our Easter best and went out to dinner because this mommy dropped the ball on prepping for an Easter dinner at home. It turned out to be so much fun though, and it was pretty great to not have to cook or clean up!

It was definitely one of the best and most relaxing Easters we have ever had, which was perfect for how crazy life has been lately! Now, we are so ready for warm weather and to get some use out of the girls' bathing suits that they got in their baskets!

Hope you all had a very wonderful Easter, friends!

Until next time! XoXoXo
