Seventeen Weeks

Wednesday, September 27, 2017

How far along: 17 weeks 4 days
Weight gain: Still no weight gain yet, which I find so odd, considering I'm hungry ALL the time! By this point with Baylee, I had gained 5 pounds, so I have a feeling I'll start gaining soon!
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Sleep sucks still because I'm having to set my alarm to get up and pee, but I'm hoping I only have to do that for another week or two.
Best moment this week: I saw my OB and she said my uterus is finally beginning it's rise! Right now the top of my uterus is by my bellybutton. Also, baby had a great heart rate of 138 bpm!
Worst moment this week: I ended up in the ER yet again for urine retention and it was the worst visit. We did, however, find out that the biggest issue is from my bicornuate uterus. The horn of the uterus that baby is in is moving up, but the empty horn is still stuck in my pelvis and that is what is pissing off my bladder all the time. I seriously hope the right side gets the memo soon!
Miss anything: Peeing without having a panic attack.
Movement: A few solid kicks here and there but nothing steady!
Cravings: Fruit, ice cream, strawberry milkshakes, spaghetti with lots of meat sauce, and cereal. Milk is life!
Anything make you queasy or sick: I've actually had a few bouts of nausea this week but nothing lasting.
Looking forward to: My next OB appointment is a week from today!

Apples to Apples!

Monday, September 25, 2017

Yesterday, we went on our annual Fall apple picking trip to Oak Glen! Baylee loved being a little taller this year so she could reach up and pick off apples from some of the lower branches by herself. :) We were joined by our best friends, our bro and sis-in-law, and our niece, Adalyn, and had the most wonderful time!

It was so great to be somewhere that we could wear boots and jeans and truly enjoy the Fall atmosphere. After apple picking, we had a delicious lunch, and then walked around Oak Tree Village for some shopping. The girls got to ride the ponies, and then we waited in a half hour line for mini apple cider donuts...totally worth it! :) I can't wait to go back again next month to pick out our pumpkins!

Until next time! XoXoXo

Sixteen Weeks

How far along: 16 weeks 3 days
Gender Prediction: Not a prediction anymore, we now know that it's a girl! Woohoo!
Weight gain: Lost a pound, so I still haven't gained any weight yet.
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Sleep hasn't been the greatest because I have been setting my alarm to get up and go to the bathroom every few hours to prevent another ER trip, but I know it won't last forever.
Best moment this week: Totally not pregnancy related, but my niece got to go home from the NICU and it was the best feeling ever!!! As far as pregnancy related, my best moment was getting to attend A Positively Baby Shower with my sisters! Make sure you check out the Positively Oakes Blog and you can read all about it soon!
Worst moment this week: I'm just in that awkward phase of pregnancy where not feeling her move is stressing me out. I know I will be able to feel her soon, but I don't like not having any reassurance that she's okay.
Miss anything: Nothing really! I'm trying my best to embrace every moment of this pregnancy!
Movement: Not much. I've only felt her a handful of times.
Cravings:Spaghetti, milkshakes, sour cream and onion pringles, grilled cheese on sourdough and ALL the fruit!
Anything make you queasy or sick: Nope! I am not a huge fan of grilled chicken right now but other than that eating is my friend!
Looking forward to: My next doctors appointment and the anatomy scan next month!

Pink or Blue?

Monday, September 18, 2017

Over the weekend, we did a gender reveal mini shoot with the always wonderful Janae Marie Photography! We were so excited to finally find out what baby number 2 is and...

IT'S A GIRL!!!

That's right, we are as shocked as you are that it's pink on pink over here at the Tibbetts' house! :) I would have put money on baby being a little boy, but I am absolutely over the moon to get to experience another baby girl. I know Baylee and her little sister are going to grow up to be the best of friends just like my sisters and me!

Baylee was so scared of the smoke bomb at first because it makes a noise like a firework, but we keep joking that this is the moment Baylee realized she wasn't going to be the only princess anymore! LoL

She finally warmed up to it near the end, though, and looks just as excited to have a little sister as we are! I love that I can break out all of Baylee's adorable clothes and toys that I saved, and use them for the new baby. I am even more eager for February to come around now, so that I can finally have my girls together. :)

If you're local, and want to do a gender reveal, maternity pictures, or a family shoot with Janae, make sure you check out her website here to contact her! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Until next time! XoXoXo

A Bump In the Road

Thursday, September 14, 2017

Well, we just got in the clear from morning sickness and my hematoma in my uterus, so I thought that this second trimester would finally be the "honeymoon phase" I have been waiting for so that I could completely enjoy this pregnancy, but we have hit yet another bump in the road. Everything is okay with baby, but lately I have been noticing that something was off. I felt movement with Baylee at 12 weeks, and with this baby I am already almost 16 weeks and have only felt movement twice. I also have noticed that I am carrying super low, and that my bump isn't growing a whole lot from week to week like it was last trimester. I just chalked that up to every pregnancy being different, however, and didn't think much of it.

Then, within the past couple weeks I started to notice that every once in a while when I went to the bathroom nothing would come out. I mentioned it to my OB, and she said that I might be dealing with a slight uterine prolapse, but that it should correct itself by 16 weeks. But then, a few days later, (this Monday and Tuesday) I found myself in the ER with painful urine retention. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't go, so two days in a row they had to catheterize me to empty my bladder. They couldn't figure out the cause, so they had me return to see my OB.

So, yesterday I finally had an appointment with my OB, and after doing a pelvic exam, she diagnosed me with an Incarcerated Uterus. Basically, whats happening is that normally, after the first trimester, the uterus rises above the pubic bone and out of the pelvis. Mine, however, is tilted and quite literally "stuck" behind my pubic bone. This is causing immense pressure on my bladder, and when it gets too full, it causes my urethra to get clamped down so that urine cannot come out. :/ So. Much. Fun. The best part? This only happens to 1 in 3,000 pregnancies. I think I need to play the lottery.

Theoretically, there is a chance that this can correct itself within the coming weeks, however there is always a chance that it won't. We are going to keep a close eye on it and do everything we can to get it to move (exercises and yoga poses) but if it doesn't things could get a little scary. Without room to grow, baby is high risk for preterm birth, and because my cervix is facing the wrong way I would have no choice but to have a cesarean. We are going to have to cross those bridges when we get there, however, so I am trying to stay calm and keep the faith that it will all work out.

For now, I am just asking for all your prayers and good vibes! I know I need to stay strong and relaxed for my little babe, so please pray that God grants me loads of peace and acceptance. I will update the blog as we know more! Thank you to every single one of you who has been there for every step of this journey! I couldn't jump these hurdles without you! All my love!

Until next time! XoXoXo
