Our Weekend in Baldy!

Monday, June 27, 2016

Oh, Monday... We are having a slow day over here in the Tibbetts' house because we had a jam packed weekend of fun!
On Saturday, we went to the Mt Baldy Fire Department Fundraiser. We go every year, and traditionally it's a "steak fry" where the fire fighters serve steak meals to everyone, but this year they did it a little differently, and we loved the change! Instead of steak dinners they had food trucks and craft beer stands. It all looked so quaint in the middle of the woods, and the food and drinks were amazing.

There were a lot of food trucks to choose from (even sushi!), but Brian and I opted to go the heart attack route and got burgers and steak fries. They also had a truck serving Italian Ice, so Baylee and I sampled the root beer float flavor.

The kiddos had so much fun running around playing on the fire trucks, and dancing to the live band. Baylee and Adalyn found themselves some buckets and were drumming away to the music (and only stopping to dig in some dirt). They had a blast and got crazy filthy like true mountain babies. :)

The next day, we went back up the mountain again to attend our friends' 3-year-old's birthday party. It was the sweetest little out door tea party ever, and Baylee was thrilled to be playing with all the "big girls"!

Much to all the girls' delight, they had a surprise guest...Queen Elsa herself! Baylee was absolutely star-struck with her mouth hanging wide open and shouting "Hi Elsa! Hi Elsa". Heart officially warmed.

Elsa served the girls their "tea" (juice of course), gave them pretty snowflake tattoos, and then did and entire song and dance with them to "Let It Go". The whole thing was absolutely adorable, and I'm pretty sure it was the highlight of Baylee's weekend. She did so well sipping her juice from an actual teacup. When she finished she held up her cup and said "Elsa, mo tea pease!" Hysterical! She was the youngest of the "big kids", so I didn't expect her to be so outgoing, but she was singing and dancing her little heart out with the rest of them. I was so proud of my girl, and so grateful to our friends that she got to have that experience!

How we love our weekends in the mountain! Maybe one day we will live closer so our adventures there won't be so few and far between. :)

Until next time! XoXoXo

Friday Favorites: Red, White, & Cute

Friday, June 24, 2016

I can't believe we are already going to be celebrating Independence Day this next coming weekend! The 4th of July is a big holiday in our house. We are avid patriots and love showing pride for our country. So, we always decorate the whole house, and of course, the baby. (Who isn't such a baby anymore, waahhh.) Here are my favorite things for all the little firecrackers this year:

I'm obsessed with this chambray star dress. I haven't picked it up for Baylee yet, but I think she may need it. It's perfect to wear all summer long, and we all know I have heart eyes for anything chambray.

I recently picked up this Happy and Free shirt from OshKosh for Baylee, and I think it would look so cute paired with these Old Navy shorts

For swimming and other water fun, I love this two piece swimsuit from Baby Gap. They even have matching flip flops! Doesn't get much cuter!

Of course, we can't forget accessories. I already got this Bomb Pop Bow from Harper Blake Boutique and I'm in love with how cute it is. (It comes with and without tails.) And no patriotic beauty is complete without a pair of Star Sunglasses! All you need now are some of these adorable star sparklers from Tops Malibu and you're set to have a sparkly 4th! :)

What are everyone's plans for Independence Day this year? I, for one, have no idea what we are actually doing, but I know we will make it fun and exciting for Baylee!

Here's a pic of my patriotic princess from last year! Where did this tiny little almost 1 year old go?!

Until next time! XoXoXo

Father's Day Weekend!

Monday, June 20, 2016

Happy Summer Solstice, everyone! I hope you all had a fun weekend celebrating all the amazing daddies! :)

We started our Father's Day on Saturday with a trip to Oak Glen to visit Brian's dad. His parents own a turquoise jewelry shop there, so we try to make it out a few times a year to visit them and tour the village. I have to say, this was our best trip there yet, because Baylee is finally old enough to enjoy some of the things they have for kiddos to do!

First, we took Brian's dad out to lunch and then we decided to walk around the shops for a bit. They have the cutest stuff, and a lot of it is hand made (which you all know I'm a sucker for!). We walked Baylee up to the petting zoo, and she got to have a cup of dried corn to feed chickens, peacocks, goats, and an adorable brown cow. She was in Heaven! (Although I think the feral squirrel that was stealing from the chickens was her favorite! Ha.)

After the petting zoo, we turned the corner to find the pony rides and Baylee went ballistic shouting "Purple hoshie (horsie), purple hoshie!" So, we couldn't say "no". She got to ride a little white horse with pink and purple ribbons named "Apple". I was so impressed with how well she did and how naturally riding came to her! Her happiness warmed my Mama heart...I love my little animal lover! :)

After the ponies, we were in need for a snack, so Baylee got to try her first apple donut. They're little mini donuts that they fry and then roll in cinnamon and sugar that's been flavored to taste like different kinds of apples including red delicious, granny smith, and caramel apples. So yummy. I can't wait to go back for more, and I think Baylee feels the same!

On Sunday, we woke up early (looking at you, Baylee) so we decided to go out to breakfast. First, we gave Brian his Father's Day gift of a stamped key chain and he totally teared up a bit. Him and Baylee put on their matching "Rad Dad" and "I get my rad from my Dad" shirts that I got from Trio Trendy Threads, and they totally rocked them. So happy with how they turned out!

After a delicious pancake breakfast, we went to the park to enjoy some outside time before the heat really came in. (It was 106 yesterday...so much yuck.) Baylee loved making Daddy follow her all around and go down the slides with her. She's a Daddy's Girl without a doubt!

After nap time, we met up with my Dad and sisters and took Baylee to see her first movie, "Finding Dory"! I was a little worried that she wouldn't last through the whole movie plus the previews, but she did great. She bounced around from lap to lap and ate all our popcorn, icees, and chocolate covered cranberries. Whatever keeps her quiet, right? She only whimpered a couple of times, and I thought it was hilarious when she would recognize a character or animal on the screen and shout out "Monkey! Dory! Nemo!" Surprisingly, I actually got to pay attention to the entire movie, and it was really cute. Baby Dory is my favorite thing ever!

After the movie, we had Mexican food and pineapple margaritas for dinner, and I managed to get zero pictures of us with my Dad. Womp. Baylee was pretty done at that point though, so we called in an early night and drove home, and we all went straight to bed. It was the perfect ending to a nice, relaxing weekend.

Now to battle the rest of this ridiculous heat wave. Wish us luck.

Until next time! XoXoXo
